Report: Spurs eager to sign World Cup finalist next month; already offered by agent

Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to sign Adrien Rabiot before his contract at Juventus comes to an end next summer, according to The Times.

The French international’s mother and agent, Veronique has already offered Rabiot to both Tottenham and their north London rivals Arsenal ahead of a potential switch to England.

Serie A giants Juventus are said to be fearful that the 27-year-old has set his heart on a move to the Premier League and have already told Tottenham that they will have to pay in the region of £13.5million or risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

Having previously fallen out of favour at Juventus, Rabiot managed to force his way back into Max Allegri’s plans this season and continued his impressive performances at international level after France made it to the final of the World Cup.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Rabiot for a number of years after claims back in 2018 ESPN that Rabiot turned down the club since he considered the Lilywhites to be below him (ESPN).

They must be wary that the player is not using them as a potential bargaining tool ahead of becoming a free agent in the summer where he will be able to command a hefty salary at his next club.

Tottenham are already well-stocked in the central midfield department and instead should be focusing on a creative midfielder and a reliable right wing-back.
