Report: Spurs enquire about defender’s valuation with Liverpool showing strong interest

Tottenham Hotspur face stiff competition if they wish to sign Brighton defender Ben White this summer.

The Sun claim that the 22-year-old is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea who have joined Spurs, Manchester City, Leicester and Leeds in contacting the Seagulls to enquire about their valuation of the defender.

White impressed during a loan spell with Leeds United last season as played a big part in their promotion back to the Premier League.

Leeds are said to have already made a bid of £35million which is made up of £30million upfront, plus a further £5million in performance-related add-ons with Brighton set to reject the offer and are rumoured to be holding out for £50million.

Tottenham lost the services of one central defender last month when Jan Vertonghen left as a free agent and subsequently joined Benfica.

Liverpool are said to be showing the most interest compared to the likes of Spurs, who have simply made contact to learn of the valuation.
