Report: Spurs expect player to return from injury for FA Cup fourth round

Tottenham Hotspur have the unenviable task of taking on Manchester City in the next round of the FA Cup, but the Lilywhites are likely to be boosted by the return of Manor Solomon from injury for the game.

Signed in the summer on a free transfer, Manor Solomon has had very little chance to show Spurs fans what he can do so far this season.

The Israeli winger registered two assists in his first six appearances at the start of the campaign (Transfermarkt), but has been sidelined ever since due to a meniscus injury picked up in training back in October.

With Solomon out, the likes of Richarlison, Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson, and Bryan Gil have all filled in on the left side of the attack for Ange Postecoglou‘s side in recent months.

Manor Solomon return in sight at Tottenham

The impending arrival of Timo Werner will likely provide competition for Solomon, but the good news right now for the 24-year-old is that he could be set to return later this month, just in time for the FA Cup clash with Manchester City.

That’s according to a report from The Standard, who claim Solomon should be back in training “early next week” and a return to first-team action is “targeted” for the weekend of the 27th-28th January, when fourth-round matches take place.

The return of Solomon is regarded as a “boost” for Spurs and Postecoglou, who is also missing Ivan Perisic through injury. Whether Solomon will be “fit enough” for the cup tie remains to be seen, but that appears to be the goal for the winger.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems like all of our injured players are returning this month, which is going to be such a lift to the squad. While Manor Solomon probably won’t start over Timo Werner, simply having an established player on the bench would be huge, as he could enter a game and be trusted to make an impact.
