Report: Spurs eyeing £14m move for Real Madrid player

According to the print edition of The Sunday Mirror – 6/6; page 77 (as relayed by TBR Football), Tottenham are plotting a move for Isco this summer.

After being considered one of the hottest properties in La Liga in his first few seasons at Real Madrid, Isco’s stock has fallen drastically over the last few years as he has struggled to maintain a place in the side.

The attacking midfielder unsurprisingly did not make Vicente del Bosque’s squad for the European Championship on the back of another poor campaign in which he failed to score a single goal in his 25 league appearances.

The 29-year-old has just one year left on his contract and, if The Mirror are to be believed, Spurs could look to complete a cut-price deal for the Real Madrid star.

The report claims that Tottenham are eyeing a £14m move for Isco and are ready to offer the Spaniard a three-year contract.

It is explained that the only potential hurdle for the North Londoners in getting a deal for Isco over the line is that the former Malaga man has a much better relationship with new Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti than he did with Zinedine Zidane.

While Isco’s ability on the ball has never been in question, he has simply not impacted games often enough for Real Madrid over the past few years. Having said that, he could be a decent squad player to have and could prove a smart acquisition for £14m.
