Report: Spurs eyeing £26m-rated midfielder who could replace Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in Real Betis midfielder, William Carvalho, and could soon make an offer for him, according to a report from Transfer20.

Carvalho has been a consistent performer for Betis since moving to La Liga two seasons ago but a back injury has seen his playing time limited this season.

Jose Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the box-to-box midfielder and the report suggests that Tottenham may be willing to move Tanguy Ndombele on to make room for him.

Betis are said to be open to cashing in on Carvalho and are demanding around £26 million for the Portuguese international’s signature. The report suggests that the 28-year-old is keen on completing a move to the Premier League this summer.

However, it is also revealed that Spurs may have considerable competition for his signature with the likes of Wolves, Leicester, and West Ham all said to be keen on landing Carvalho.

Spurs Web Opinion

While we were initially being linked with defensive midfielders, over the past few weeks we have seen several reports suggesting that we could go after a creative, box to box midfielders like Ivan Rakitic, Sergej Milinkovic Savic, or Carvalho. I suspect it might be because the club have made the decision to cash in on Ndombele.
