Inter Live have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of clubs who are considering a move for Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries at the end of the current campaign.
After an indifferent first 18 months at the San Siro, Dumfries has emerged as one of Inter’s most consistent performers over the course of the past year.
It is revealed that the Dutchman’s impressive performances have caught the attention of Premier League sides, with Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United currently monitoring his situation.
Tottenham have interest in Denzel Dumfries
The report states that while Inter do not wish to sell the right-back and have started talks with him over a new contract, the Serie A club would not refuse an offer of €50m (£43m) for the player.
It is said that Tottenham may look to propose a player plus cash offer which involves Emerson Royal heading in the other direction after he was previously targeted by the Nerazzurri.
The outlet suggests that the North London club value the Brazilian at €35m (£30m) but it is thought that Inter would prefer a straight cash offer for Dumfries.
While the Dutchman international knows he will earn a lot more at a Premier League club, he views the move as a ‘leap in the dark’ and has concerns over getting regular game time in England ahead of Euro 2024.
Spurs Web Opinion
Dumfries is more of a natural wing-back whose main attributes are his engine, which helps him get up and down the pitch, and the timing of his overlaps. I am not sure if the Dutchman has the attributes to play as an inverted full-back as he is technically quite limited on the ball.
