Report: Spurs eyeing move for former Everton midfielder

According to Jeunes Footeux, Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer.

Previous reports have indicated that Antonio Conte wants to make six signings this summer, including two midfielders (Telegraph).

If Jeunes Footeux’s latest update is to be believed, Gueye is one of the options on the north London club’s radar

The former Everton man has had to be content with a bit-part role under Mauricio Pochettino at Paris this season.

It is said that the 32-year-old is not seen as indispensable by PSG and the Ligue 1 giants could cash in on him, given that he has only twelve months left on his contract.

The report adds that Spurs have been alerted to Gueye’s availability and are paying close attention to the midfielder’s situation.

It is claimed that the Senegal international is valued at around €20m (£17.1m) by PSG.

Tottenham have also previously been credited with an interest in Gueye’s PSG teammate Leandro Paredes (Calciomercato).

Spurs Web Opinion

Gueye knows the Premier League well and he would be relatively inexpensive. So, the former Everton man would tick a lot of boxes if Spurs are looking for a squad player.

However, his age would perhaps be what puts Tottenham off the most as Paratici has clearly shown a preference for signing players in their early twenties with a high resale value.
