Report: Spurs eyeing move for out of contract midfielder in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be closely monitoring the situation of Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser.

90min.com report that Spurs are eyeing a summer move for Fraser, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Despite his current deal with the Cherries running out in the summer, the midfielder is said to have rejected all advances from the club over a new deal and is ready to depart the south coast outfit as a free agent.

The Scottish international has failed to rekindle his form of last season to date where he scored eight goals and fifteen assists for the club (transfermarkt).

The report adds that Bournemouth resisted Arsenal’s approach for him last summer but the 26-year-old is said to have now made it clear that his future lies elsewhere.

Spurs will need to fend off some competition to sign Fraser with the report backing Arsenal to return for him this summer while Everton are also said to be interested.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have always liked the look of Fraser and I think he will be an excellent option to have as a part of the squad. The fact that he will be a free agent in the summer makes the deal an extremely lucrative one for any club.

However, we are fairly well stocked in terms of offensive-minded midfielders at the moment and I just don’t see him getting much game time for us. I expect him to join a club like Everton where he is likely to get regular minutes under his belt.
