Report: Spurs eyeing move for PL winger with 10 goal contributions this season

The Daily Mail have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a potential move for Brighton winger Leandro Trossard.

Trossard is currently on course to have his most productive season in front of goal since moving to Brighton in 2019, with the Belgian having found the back of the net seven times and provided three assists in 16 Premier League appearances in 2022/23.

The 28-year-old’s current deal at the Amex Stadium will run out next summer but according to Transfermarkt, the Seagulls have the option to extend the contract by another 12 months.

The Mail claim that Trossard’s clinical finishing this season has brought him to the attention of Spurs, with Antonio Conte said to be keen on adding to his forward line, in light of the injuries to Richarlison and Lucas Moura.

However, it is explained that the ‘multiple’ other Premier League clubs are also monitoring the former Genk star’s situation, with Chelsea said to be ‘sniffing’ around at the winger’s availability.

With Bryan Gil now potentially looking to set to stay at Spurs, perhaps Conte has decided that it would be better to secure a natural left-winger rather than a player to cover for Dejan Kulusevski on the right. If that is the case, Trossard would fit the bill as the Belgian can also operate through the middle if Conte decides to deploy a 3-5-2.
