Report: Spurs eyeing move for teenage sensation who may soon be free agent

The Daily Mail have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Watford starlet Adrian Blake ahead of the summer transfer window.

Blake, who first joined Watford’s academy aged nine, made his senior debut for the club against MK Dons in August – becoming the seventh youngest player in the club’s history.

The report reveals that big things are expected of the 17-year-old winger, who models his game on former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

The Mail explain that the teenager, who has one goal and two assists to his name in two FA Youth Cup matches this season, has now emerged as a target for Spurs.

The Islington-born starlet’s current contract at Vicarage Road runs out at the end of the season, thus opening up a possibility of a free transfer in June.

However, it is asserted that the Hornets are keen to tie Blake down to a new contract to ward off interest from the likes of Tottenham.

Tottenham will likely not be the only Premier League vying for Blake’s signature if he does not sign a new deal at Watford.

The North London club’s challenge would be to convince the 17-year-old that there is a straightforward passage to the first team at the club, which would be easier to do if a manager with a reputation for promoting youth such as Enrique or Pochettino is appointed.
