Report: Spurs face competition from Crystal Palace and Manchester United for right back target

Amidst reports that Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier would be leaving the club this summer, Spurs have apparently identified Norwich City right back, Max Aarons, as a potential replacement (Mirror).

Max Aarons was an integral part of Norwich’s Championship winning side last season and looks an excellent long-term replacement at right back.

However, securing Aarons’ services doesn’t look an easy task. First and foremost, Norwich will be hoping to keep hold off their promising young full back as they are set to fight it out in the Premier League for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

There is also the small issue of a transfer merry-go-round that could scupper a potential move to Spurs for Max Aarons. With Manchester United heavily interested in Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Palace are looking to Aarons as a potential replacement at right back. On the other hand, Sky Sports have reported that, should Wan-Bissaka stay put, Manchester United may then turn their attention to Aarons as another promising English option to improve their lacklustre defence.

Spurs Web Opinion

Max Aarons is a player I’m very keen on and I believe should be our number one choice to bolster our defence. He’s young and talented and with Manchester United prioritising Wan-Bissaka I think we should be taking advantage of Aarons’ availability, before it’s too late.
