Report: Spurs face competition from Serie A side for right-back

Rumoured Tottenham target Zeki Celik will leave Lille this summer with a host of clubs interested in signing the right-back, according to Sporun Dibi.

The Turkish outlet claim that Spurs are rivalling an Italian side for the signature of the player.

Lille were unable to secure another season in the Champions League after only managing to finish in fourth place in Ligue 1 (Sky Sports).

The 23-year-old only joined the French side from Istanbulspor in the summer of 2018 but it is believed there is a high chance that he will not be a Lille player come the end of this summer’s transfer window (Transfermarkt).

The report claims Spurs are one of two clubs showing real interest in the defender with Italian outfit Atalanta the other side reportedly keen on the Turkish international.

Lille are believed to be holding out for an offer in the region of £18million-£22.5million for the right-back but Spurs are up against a club who can offer Celik something they are unable to.

Atalanta currently sit in third spot in Serie A and have already confirmed their place in the Champions League for next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Celik has excelled in France since joining Lille and the price tag put on him by the French side is unlikely to put Spurs off a potential move for him. However, the challenge is beating Atalanta to his signature. They have been flying over the past few seasons and certainly would provide Celik a good package in terms of Champions League football.
