Report: Spurs face competition from three Serie A clubs for Paratici target

CalcioMercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on snapping up Torino defender Gleison Bremer but face competition from three Serie A clubs for the Brazilian.

Spurs have been linked with several central defenders from the Serie A since Antonio Conte’s appointment at the start of the month, with Bremer alleged to be one of those on the North London club’s radar.

Calcio Mercato now claim that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici has ‘the clear intention’ of bringing the 24-year-old to North London.

However, the centre-back is also said to be attracting interest from the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Napoli are thought to view Bremer as a potential replacement for the departing Kostas Manolas while Milan have allegedly sent scouts to watch the Torino man in action on several occasions this season.

It is alleged that Inter have spoken to Bremer’s representatives and are not ‘far off’ from striking an agreement over personal terms.

However, the report reveals that the main challenge for all the clubs will be striking a deal with Torino president Urbano Cairo, who allegedly wants a minimum of €25m (£21.3m) for the centre-back and prefers to sell him next summer.

Moving for Bremer would make a lot of sense for Spurs as the Brazilian is capable of playing across the back three and he would be less expensive than the likes of Skriniar or De Vrij. The fact that he is only 24 also means that he fits the profile of players Paratici is going for as a part of his rebuild.
