The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have so far not reached out to Mauricio Pochettino’s camp regarding a potential return to the club.
Over the past few days, multiple outlets have played down the possibility of Pochettino completing a fairytale return to Spurs.
The Daily Star reported a couple of days ago that Tottenham had informed the Argentine that they wanted to go in a different direction.
The club are said to have narrowed in on Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Frank, Vicent Kompany and Arne Slot as their top four candidates to replace Antonio Conte.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold suggested on Tuesday that there are reservations in both Spurs’ and Pochettino’s camp about a potential reunion.
The Athletic have now claimed that the 51-year-old would be open to returning to the club if he is approached. Pochettino is said to still have an ’emotional attachment’ to Spurs and continues to live in North London.
However, it is suggested that there has been no contact at all from Tottenham to Pochettino’s camp to date.
The majority of the Tottenham fans in the away end at Goodison Park made their feelings clear when they sang the name of their former manager on more than one occasion.

If Nagelsmann proves to be out of Tottenham’s reach, then Pochettino appears to be the best man for the job. However, it seems like Paratici is not a fan of the Argentine.
Any approach from Spurs to the 51-year-old might depend on the verdict of the Italian’s appeal, which will be heard on April 19.
