Report: Spurs fans may not see their club in action again until September 2020

The Independent have now reported that footballing authorities around Europe, including England and the Premier League, are bracing for a long-term shutdown of the sport.

The report claims that Spurs fans may not see their team in action again until September this year, which is usually just after the 2020/21 season would begin.

It was announced earlier this week that all Premier League games were to be suspended until April 4 at the very earliest in the wake of the coronavirus spread (BBC).

However, the Independent claims that a source close to these discussions has informed them that the idea of playing by early April is seen as ludicrous.

This announcement is said to be seen by many as a simple time-buying exercise as the Premier League work out a long-term plan.

Spurs are currently eighth in the Premier League and out of all other competitions this season, with little to play for. However, some smaller clubs could risk going out of business with such a long time away from the sport.
