Report: Spurs fear Lo Celso injury is serious and he may miss ‘big chunk’ of season

The Evening Standard have reported that Tottenham Hotspur now fear that Giovani Lo Celso’s groin injury is far worse than originally thought.

Lo Celso was taken off early in Argentina’s international against Chile earlier this week after he suffered a painful knock to the groin.

However, the player himself then came out and reassured fans that the issue was just a knock, implying that it would be a short-term injury (Sky Sports).

This latest Standard report seems to now suggest otherwise, even stating that Lo Celso may miss a ‘big chunk’ of his first season in North London.

The Argentine is currently on loan from Real Betis until the end of the season and has yet to make his full debut in a Lilywhite shirt.

Lo Celso has appeared from the bench three times so far, most recently in the North London Derby and has looked sharp.

However, it remains to be seen when he will be able to take to the pitch again.
