Some Spurs fans have been reacting with frustration after news emerged about a potential significant change to the playing squad come the summer.
According to a report in the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are concerned that Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Christian Eriksen might follow Danny Rose’s lead and decide to run out their contracts rather than accepting a move away.
Rose told the Evening Standard a couple of days ago that he intends to reject any move away from Tottenham until his contract runs out.
Eriksen, Alderweireld, and Vertonghen are all into the final years of their deals at the club. It is suggested that the trio also plan to reject any contract offers from Tottenham and plan to leave on a free at the end of the season.
Signing on a free transfer will allow these players to get much more lucrative terms at their new clubs than they otherwise would if the move involved a transfer fee.
If all four players leave for free, Tottenham will lose out on a considerable amount of income which could be used to improve the squad.
Here is how some Spurs fans reacted to the news.
Fuck the lot of them off

Thats fine don't play them. Apart from having to play their wages what's the problem. Buy the players needed to replace them and start building a team regardless. Spurs need 100% commitment from every player. It's a shame quite a few individual performances have dipped, why???

That is prob 200m pounds that will walk out because the chairman was too busy trying to pick pennies in front of a train. So disappointed with his failure to step up and evolve.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear that this was the problem Pochettino has been hinting at in some of his press conferences. Spurs likely couldn’t get all of their targets in during the summer as they were unable to move out the players they wanted to. If all four of these players have no intention of signing a new deal, I believe Pochettino shouldn’t play them again.
