Report: Spurs fear they are fighting ‘losing battle’ in pursuit of manager target

The Daily Star have revealed that Tottenham fear that they might fail in their pursuit of Brendan Rodgers after losing out on Julian Nagelsmann.

Leipzig have announced that Nagelsmann is on his way to Bayern Munich at the end of the season, with Spurs said to be turning their attentions to the likes of Rogers, Erik Ten Hag, Gareth Southgate and Ralf Rangnick instead.

The Star now report that Spurs always knew they were outsiders to win the race for Nagelsmann but the news of his appointment still comes as a blow to the North London club.

It is said that Tottenham have now made Rodgers their number one target but the club are aware that they face an uphill battle to tempt the Leicester boss.

It is explained that the Lilywhites are now also considering Ten Hag and RB Salzburg’s Jesse Marsch, who has also been mooted as a potential replacement for Nagelsmann at Leipzig.
