Report: Spurs fearful they could lose established first teamer with contract nearing expiry

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a potential replacement should Hugo Lloris leave the club, according to The Sun.

The Frenchman has one year left to run on his contract in North London and has been linked with a potential return to France, with the club fearful he may look to end his stint with the former Champions League finalists which dates back to his arrival from Lyon in 2012.

Former boss Mauricio Pochettino is expected to take charge of Paris Saint-Germain following the recent dismissal of Thomas Tuchel and is said to be keen to take his former skipper with him to the Parc des Princes.

The report claims that Spurs have identified Manchester United’s Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone of West Bromwich Albion as a replacement between the sticks.

Henderson, who impressed during his loan spell at Sheffield United is said to be frustrated following his return to Old Trafford that they continue to keep faith with David De Gea.

Johnston has been one of West Brom’s brightest performers following their return to the top flight despite the tough campaign they have experienced which led to Slaven Bilic losing his job.

Pochettino is being tipped to return to his former club and recruit Lloris while Dele Alli has also been named as a potential arrival.
