Football Insider have revealed that the reason Chris Perkins quit Tottenham to join Arsenal is that he felt he was being overlooked in key decisions at Hotspur Way.
Perkins came to notoriety with his impressive work as the head of academy recruitment at Derby County before being snapped up by Everton in 2020.
Fabio Paratici and former Spurs technical performance director Steve Hitchen then brought him as Tottenham’s emerging talent manager just a year later to help identify the best young talent from the 17 to 21 age bracket to bring into the club’s academy.
It emerged last month that Perkins decided to leave Tottenham and take up a similar role at their North London rivals Arsenal as the Lilywhites’ structure continued to change around him (Football.London).
Football Insider have now provided more details on his resignation, explaining that Spurs’ former emerging talent manager had become disillusioned as he did not have a big say in key decisions about young players.
The report further adds that Perkins rejected the chance to return to Everton in favour of taking up a role at Arsenal.

Paratici has been busy restructuring youth recruitment at Spurs with the likes of Leonardo Gabbanini and Andy Scoulding arriving at the club over the last six months.
So, Perkins’ role might have diminished and the fact that Spurs have not replaced him suggests that his role has been absorbed already into the current structure.
