Report: Spurs fined £25,000 and Mourinho handed suspended one-match ban

Reports have emerged this evening that Tottenham Hotspur have received a fine for breaching UEFA rules, while Jose Mourinho has been handed a suspended one-match ban (Daily Mail).

These rulings come after Mourinho reportedly caused a late kick-off in the recent Europa League game against Royal Antwerp on October 29.

The Lilywhites lost the game in Belgium 1-0, with UEFA now rubbing salt in the wounds with their choice to potentially ban Mourinho and fine the club.

Spurs were fined 25,000 Euros for the rule breach, while also receiving another 3000 Euro fine for breaching UEFA equipment regulations.

The decision to give Mourinho a suspended one-match ban, which comes from the CEDB, is said to come with a one-year probation period from the date of the decision.

This means that, as long as Jose does not re-offend within the next 12-months, he will not have to serve the ban.

They also asked Tottenham to ensure that the Portuguese coach was personally informed of the decision.
