Report: Spurs getting nervous over Eriksen stalling contract

Christian Eriksen has been one of the most creative players in the Premier League since he made the move to Tottenham from Ajax six years ago.

The Dane has now featured for Tottenham over 250 times and has been a pivotal part of our attempts at challenging for the title in recent seasons.

However, the 26-year-old’s current contract comes to an end next year and if reports are to be believed, he isn’t in a hurry to commit his future to the North London club.

Over the past few months, Tottenham have managed to tie down the likes of Kane, Alli and even Pochettino to new contract extensions by offering them bumper deals. Eriksen meanwhile is still estimated to be on a modest £75,000 a week and according to reports Tottenham are prepared to offer him terms that would see him become one of the highest earners at the club.

However, the Sunday Express report that the playmaker is stalling putting pen to paper on a deal amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Spurs are said to be growing increasingly nervous about the situation.

If the Dane does not sign an extension before the summer, the club might be forced to listen to offers for the 26-year-old or risk him leaving for free.
