Report: Spurs give Wolves signing recommendation ahead of summer transfer window

Tottenham have recommended that Wolves sign Simon Hunt as their new Sporting Director, according to Football Insider.

The same publication previously reported that Wolves had approached Hunt to join the club earlier this month with the 57-year-old intended to oversee their football set-up.

Spurs are just one of a number of clubs to have recommended Hunt to Wolves after the senior man had previously held the role of first-team scout at the Lilywhites (NFFC).

Hunt had most recently been working at Nottingham Forest as their head scout, having previously worked under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

The former Spurs man also has experience in coaching, having managed in the Swedish top flight.

It is believed that Wolves are hoping to appoint Hunt before the summer transfer window opens towards the end of July in order for the senior figure to settle in beforehand.

Former Sporting Director, Kevin Thelwell resigned in February for New York Red Bulls leaving Hunt a big task on his hands to replace such a well-respected figure.

Under Andre Villas-Boas and Mauricio Pochettino, Hunt has a huge level of experience in a number of roles but his time at Spurs will have put him in a good place to judge signings and that could bring Wolves a lot of success in the transfer windows.
