Report: Spurs confirm 22-year-old is off to the MLS

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that goalkeeper Brandon Austin has joined Orlando City on loan for the duration of the MLS season, subject to international clearance.

Orlando are currently preparing for the MLS season ahead which runs from March until the end of the year.

Austin has been on the fringes of the Spurs first team on occasion, having been named on the bench for the 1-1 home draw with Watford in the Premier League in October 2019.

Austin has previous loan experience having turned out for Danish side Viborg FF last season.

Sky Sports (22/1 – 11:59) had earlier today reported that Austin was on the verge of the move and claimed that any deal to take him Stateside does not include any obligation to make the deal permanent.

The keeper is currently under contract with the North Londoners until 2022 and he will now continue to get first-team experience away from Jose Mourinho’s side with Hugo Lloris, Joe Hart and Paulo Gazzaniga all ahead of him in the pecking order.
