Tottenham Hotspur were linked with plenty of central defenders last summer, with the future of Toby Alderweireld still unclear at the time under Mauricio Pochettino.
Despite a contract extension, the Belgian was still due to leave on a free at the end of the 2019/20 season, which could have served as a huge blow to the North Londoners.
One man who was linked with coming in to replace the likes of Alderweireld and Vertonghen was Lazio defender, Luiz Felipe.
The Daily Mail reported at the time that the Brazilian was available for just £17m, something that cannot be said this summer.
La Lazio Sia Monoi have now reported that Leeds United are eyeing up a move for the Lazio defender, but his value has doubled in the space of just 12 months. The report adds that Barcelona and PSG are also both interested.
Leeds are said to be willing to offer £26m for his services, but Lazio value the central defender at £34m this year. It looks as if Spurs may have missed out on a bargain.
