NapoliCalcio24 have now suggested that even though the race for Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson is now heating up, Tottenham have an advantage over other suitors as they have a good relationship with the attacker’s representatives.
The versatile Gudmundsson, who can operate as a number ten or in either flank, has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over recent weeks, with various outlets revealing that the Lilywhites are watching the player closely (Gazzetta dello Sport).
Over the last few days, some publications have also talked up Juventus’ interest in the attacker, with the Old Lady being named as Tottenham’s main competitor for the Genoa star (Tuttosport).
Spurs have advantage in race for Gudmundsson
NapoliCalcio24 have now reported that more clubs have now entered the fray for Gudmundsson, with Spurs and the Bianconeri joined by the likes of Fiorentina, Roma, Napoli and AC Milan.
It is explained that Genoa rebuffed an offer from Fiorentina for the Iceland international in January, with the Italian side wanting a fee of €35m (£30m) for the player next summer.
The report also reveals that Gudmundsson’s agent has a ‘direct line’ with Tottenham, having worked on a few transfers for the North London club in the past and this could give Ange Postecoglou’s men an advantage in the race.

Apart from the connection with Gudmundsson’s representatives, Tottenham also have a good working relationship with Genoa, having successfully struck a deal for Dragusin last month.
If Spurs should decide to push ahead with a move for the 26-year-old, one would install them as favourites to land the attacker.
