Report: Spurs have a key summer spending advantage over their PL rivals

The Times have pointed out that Tottenham Hotspur are determined to take advantage of their healthy financial position this summer, which they hope would give them an upper hand over many of their Premier League rivals.

The report points out that unlike many of their rivals, Tottenham will have no issues complying with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Tottenham have serious spending power this summer

It is explained that several Premier League sides, including Nottingham Forest, Everton, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are in danger of falling foul of those regulations and would thus need to sell some of their players before the June 30 deadline.

With Spurs not having to worry about their issue, they could have a competitive advantage and want to use that to back Postecoglou as he aims to put his own imprint on the squad.

The report adds that much like last summer, the Lilywhites could move early for their key transfer targets as soon as the window opens.

We probably will not see too many mega-money moves this summer across the Premier League as the market will correct itself after the strict implementation of PSR.

With Spurs seemingly competing with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Villa for a few players, they are in a strong position to make a real statement this summer by backing Postecoglou.
