Report: Spurs have ‘already moved’ for winger who could be available for £12.4m

Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Tottenham have already made advances towards a summer deal for Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia has developed into one of the most exciting talents in Russian football since joining Kazan as a teenager back in 2019.

Spurs and AC Milan were allegedly eyeing moves for the Georgian international last summer, with Sempre Milan revealing the winger was valued at around €18m (£15.5m) at the time.

Kvaratskhelia’s agent Timur Gurtskaya subsequently revealed the 20-year-old did seriously consider leaving Kazan last summer, naming Spurs among the clubs who showed interest in his client (Sport Business).

Gazzetta have now revealed that Napoli have entered the race for the Kazan star ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, it is stated that the Serie A club face competition from the likes of Spurs, Leeds and AC Milan who have ‘already moved’ for the player.

The report adds that Kazan would be willing to cash in on Kvaratskhelia for a free of around €15m (£12.4m) when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kvaratskhelia is extremely gifted at running with the ball but there is a question mark about his end product and it remains to be seen how he will adapt to the Premier League.

Besides, I also do not see the 21-year-old as being a natural fit for Conte’s system, unless the Italian believes that he can covert the youngster into a wing-back.
