Report: Spurs have already ‘started negotiations’ to sign 18-year-old

Voetbalkrant have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have already begun work on landing Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge this summer.

Following Spurs’ failed efforts to land Nusa in January, reports over the last few months have continued to back the Lilywhites to reignite their interest in skilful winger in the summer.

Journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport at the start of this month that the North London club are ‘carefully monitoring’ the teenager’s situation and are assessing his fitness before making a summer move.

Tottenham are now in talks over Antonio Nusa

Voetbalkrant have now gone a step further by asserting that Spurs have already ‘started negotiations’ with Club Brugge over a deal for Nusa.

The report explains that the Belgian side are sticking to the €37m (£31.7m) fee they demanded for the player January, which Spurs find a little too high, with the two sides now trying to find common ground.

Interestingly, it is revealed that Nusa is not the only Brugge player that Tottenham have an interest in, with Ange Postecoglou’s men also said to be admirers of his teammate Andreas Skov Olsen.

The publication asserts that a potential double deal is thus on the cards and that a combined offer of €50m (£42.8m) might be enough for Spurs to secure the duo.

I cannot see the Skov Olsen rumours having any legs. The Dane international might have been a target for Spurs a couple of years ago but he has not developed the way that people expected him to. The 24-year-old has not shown enough to suggest that he can shine at the Premier League level.
