Report: Spurs have an ‘offer ready’ as European giants circle over midfielder

Tutto Juve have suggested that Tottenham may strike the first blow in the race for Sebastian Szymanski as a number of big clubs around Europe have now entered the race for the Fenerbahce star’s signature.

Szymanski has arguably been the best player on show in Turkish football this season, with the versatile attacking midfielder, who can also operate out wide, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

A number of Turkish outlets have reported over the last few weeks that Spurs are closely watching the 24-year-old’s situation ahead of the summer window (Fanatik).

Spurs have an offer ready for Sebastian Szymanski

TuttoJuve have now suggested that the list of Szymanski’s admirers are now growing, with the Bianconeri also now plotting a summer move for the Poland international.

The report says that the Serie A giants have identified the Fenerbahce star as an alternative to Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners but they face competition from the Premier League, with Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd all ‘vying to sign’ the player.

The publication adds that the Lilywhites have an ‘offer already ready’ for Szymanski in an effort to steal a march on other suitors, with the player allegedly valued by Fenerbahce at €25m (£21.3m).

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised to see Spurs being linked with attacking midfielders as Giovani Lo Celso is likely to depart in the summer and Postecoglou will want to sign a player who can cover for James Maddison.

Someone like Szymanski or Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson would be ideal as they would also be able to provide cover for the wide areas.
