Report: Spurs have been monitoring Championship winger for some time

According to a report by The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in signing Reading’s Michael Olise.

Olise made his debut for Reading in 2019 and he established himself as a regular in the Royals side at the end of last season.

The tricky winger has made a brilliant start to this campaign, having scored four and assisted seven already.

The 19-year-old’s poise on the ball, his dribbling ability and his technique seem to be turning quite a lot of heads if reports are to be believed.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Everton are both keen on signing the French wonderkid, while The Daily Mail also credit Leeds United with interest in him.

The Athletic have now reported that Olise has been a long-term target for Spurs, with the North Londoners said to have beenwatching him for some time.

The report reveals that the youngster has a release clause of just £8m.

Olise has more than a tinge of Riyad Mahrez about him. He seems to glide across the pitch and go past challenges easily but always has his head up like the Algerian. His ball-striking technique and vision also seem second to none. He certainly looks good enough for the Premier League and I hope we do not hesitate and come to regret missing out on him as we did with Eze and Bowden.
