Report: Spurs have been offered chance to sign 27-year-old West Ham star

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek this summer.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed back in April that Soucek was one of the midfielders on Antonio Conte’s radar this April.

The 27-year-old’s current contract at the London Stadium has two years left to run and, The Daily Express claimed last month that Spurs and Juventus could look to swoop for the midfielder if David Moyes’ side are unsuccessful in getting him to commit to a new contract.

Football Insider have revealed that Soucek’s future is now up in the air, with talks over a new deal with the Hammers having stalled.

The report claims that the midfielder’s relationship with Moyes has ‘disintegrated’ and there is ‘tension’ behind the scenes between the pair.

A source has allegedly told Football Insider that Soucek has been offered to Spurs through his agents.

However, the report also suggests that a move across London might be unlikely for the midfielder given the strained relationship between West Ham’s and Tottenham’s board.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite his technical limitations, Soucek would be a decent fit for Antonio Conte’s system, given his engine and his ability to expertly time his runs into the final third. However, I would be extremely surprised if West Ham agree to sell the 27-year-old to us.
