The North London club have also been backed to pursue attacking midfielders like Weston McKennie (Ben Jacobs), Ruslan Malinovskyi (CalcioMercato) and Mohammed Kudus (The Sun).

Tete, who can play as a number eight as well as out wide, is the latest player to be mooted as a target for Antonio Conte’s men.

90 min explain that the Brazilian, who is contracted to Shakhtar, has spent the last six months at Lyon after FIFA suspended the contracts of all foreign players in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s invasion.

The report states that the 23-year-old, who has five goals and three assists in Ligue 1 this season (Transfermarkt), has now been offered an initial loan deal to the likes of Spurs, West Ham, Newcastle and Arsenal.

However, 90 min add that it is unclear at this stage whether any of the aforementioned clubs would be willing to meet Tete’s or Shakhtar’s demands.

Tete might actually fit the bill for what Spurs need as, like Malinovskyi, he could operate as an eight in a 3-5-2, while also being capable of covering for Dejan Kulusevski on the right of a 3-4-3. So, a deal for the Brazilian might appeal to Conte ahead of January.
