According to FC Inter News, Tottenham Hotspur have reached out to Simone Inzaghi‘s agent Tullio Tinti regarding their managerial vacancy.
It remains unclear who Spurs’ top targets are to replace Antonio Conte, with reports over the last week indicating that the Premier League club first want to appoint a sporting director before resuming their search for a head coach (Football Insider).
However, if FC Inter News’ latest update is to be believed, Tottenham have already conducted a ‘survey’ on Inzaghi’s availability.
The report states that despite Spurs stepping up their pursuit, the Inter boss is not thinking about next season for the time being and is focused on helping the Serie A club win the Champions League.
The publication adds that the 47-year-old, who has one year left on his contract at the San Siro, will sit down with the Nerazzurri hierarchy at the end of the season to discuss his future at the club before making a final decision.
Spurs Web Opinion
I would be extremely surprised if Inzaghi is on Tottenham’s shortlist to take over from Conte.
While the Italian has done a decent job at Inter, he is very much another counter-attacking manager rather than someone who wants his teams to press with intensity and dominate possession.
