Report: Spurs have contacted club to ask about price tag for midfield target

Sport claim that Barcelona have told Tottenham Hotspur they can sign Franck Kessie for €25m (£21.8m) this summer.

The report states that Barcelona have already decided to sell Kessie and will notify the footballer’s camp of their decision at the end of the season.

It is revealed that the Catalan club are ready to cash in on the midfielder as Xavi Hernandez does not see him as a starter, plus the player is attracting plenty of interest.

Barca allegedly want the move to be completed by June 30 as they need to raise funds to cover their losses.

It is explained that Tottenham ‘have asked for a price’ over recent days, and have been informed that €25m (£21.8m) will be enough to snap up Kessie.

Sport add that Inter Milan have also expressed an interest in singing the 26-year-old, who is said to be open to the idea of returning to Italy.

However, it is asserted that Barca are ‘beginning to rule out that possibility’ as Serie A clubs lack the funds for such an operation.

There is no doubt that Tottenham need reinforcements in the middle of the park, particularly with Bentancur likely to be out of action until November.

However, the decision on which player to pursue is not likely to be finalised until a new head coach walks through the door.
