Report: Spurs have discussed player plus cash deal with Premier League club

The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have held discussions with Everton over using Harry Winks as a makeweight in a deal to sign Richarlison.

Multiple reports over the last few weeks have suggested that Spurs have set their sights on Richarlison this summer. According to UOL, the Brazilian has made up his mind to leave Goodison Park and is open to a move to Spurs.

Meanwhile, David Ornstein remarked on The Athletic UK’s YouTube channel last week that his sources at Everton expect the 25-year-old to be a Tottenham player by the end of the transfer window.

Over recent days, reports have indicated that Everton have stepped up their efforts to sign Winks from Spurs.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Frank Lampard has identified the England international as a player who can bolster his midfield options, and talks between the Toffees and Tottenham for the 26-year-old are now underway.

The Mail have now revealed that Lampard’s men would prefer to sign the Spurs midfielder on loan while the Lilywhites are looking for a permanent sale.

It is explained that the two clubs have also discussed the possibility of including Winks in a deal to take Richarlison from Goodison Park to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs Web Opinion

Winks would be a very good fit for Everton, given the possession-based style of play that Frank Lampard wants to implement. Of all the forwards that Spurs have been linked with, I think Richarlison is likely to be near the top of Conte’s wishlist. Given Everton’s issues with FFP, I can see the Toffees being tempted to accept a potential player plus a cash offer from Tottenham.
