Over the last two weeks, Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Nicolo Zaniolo, with 90 min reporting a couple of days ago that the North London club are not giving up on the 23-year-old, who is valued by Roma at over €50m (£41.8m).
Corriere have now claimed that Tottenham also hold an interest in Zaniolo’s Roma teammate Zalewski, who made his senior debut for the club towards the end of the 2020/21 campaign and went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions last season (Transfermarkt).
The report asserts there has been ‘no lack of interest’ in the 20-year-old, with Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain thought to be at the front of the queue for the youngster.
Antonio Conte is said to be a big fan of the winger and it is alleged that Spurs have already made contact with the player’s entourage.
However, Corriere add that Roma have no intention of selling Zalewski and have not ‘given the slightest opening’ to any negotiations.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is not surprising to see Spurs having an eye on the best emerging talent in Serie A like Zalewski and Destiny Udogie. Conte and Paratici have plenty of expertise in the Italian market and so, one would expect us to continue to do the bulk of our shopping from Serie A.
