Report: Spurs have ‘extensively scouted’ midfield duo ahead of the summer

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs across Europe who have their eye on Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Nice’s Khephren Thuram.

Kone and Thuram have both shone in the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 respectively this season and while the former has already won a senior cap for France, it appears only a matter of time before the latter also breaks into the Les Blues set-up.

90 min reveal that Tottenham, along with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, have scouted the two midfielders extensively over the course of the season.

However, the report asserts that it is Liverpool who are leading the race for both players, having already held talks with the representatives of either regarding a switch to Anfield.

The outlet adds that the Nice and Gladbach stars have also turned heads across mainland Europe, with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain said to be eyeing moves for the pair.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham do need additions in central midfield this summer, particularly if Rodrigo Bentancur misses the first few months of next season but I would argue that the position is not as much of a priority to address as centre-back (where we need multiple additions) and attacking midfield.
