Report: Spurs have funds to meet £15.5m asking price – Talks expected soon

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (21/11/22 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur would have no problem meeting the £15.5m asking price for Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi in the January transfer window.

Malinovskyi has struggled for game time at Atalanta so far this season and the Ukrainian has been backed to leave the Serie A club in January.

Calciomercato reported earlier this month that Tottenham have already made contact with Atalanta over a potential deal for the 29-year-old.

Tutto Mercato Web journalist Marco Conterio claimed last week that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are in full agreement about trying to sign the experienced attacking midfielder when the transfer window opens in January.

Tottenham’s interest in Malinovskyi has also been confirmed by the ever-reliable Alasdair Gold, who said on Football.London a few days ago that the Atalanta star is one of a number of options that the North London club are looking at to bolster their attacking options in January.

If Gazzetta’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs would be able to offer £15.5m for the former Genk star, and talks are expected between the two clubs over the next few weeks.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the way Paratici works, we know that Spurs are likely to have several names on their list for each position. I suspect that Weston McKennie will also rank fairly high on the club’s wishlist for an attacking midfielder and I would not be surprised if Conte preferred the USA international over Malinovskyi.
