Report: Spurs have held talks with Barcelona starlet’s representatives

Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba has reportedly held talks with a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, over a potential summer transfer.

The 18-year-old’s future in Spain is very much in doubt as he was left to play in the reserves after refusing to extend his current deal at Barcelona.

The Spanish club now feel they need to squeeze a fee out of the starlet this transfer window as his contract at the Camp Nou expires next year.

The midfielder is not short of interest, especially from England. Tottenham have spoken to the player’s representatives but they are not alone in that – Arsenal and Leicester have also held conversations.

Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United are also three clubs that have reportedly monitored the situation surrounding the midfielder’s future.

At just 18 years of age, he has already played for Barcelona 18 times in all competitions but it appears his future in Spain is now at a crossroads.

Moriba is clearly a massive talent, so it is no shock that plenty of Premier League teams are already circling. Barcelona’s situation is a sorry one but it will mean that potential talent could be shifted out, and Spurs should definitely pounce – especially when opportunities like this pop up.
