CalcioMercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer move for AS Roma centre-back Gianluca Mancini.
Some Spurs fans were not particularly pleased that the North London club failed to strengthen in central defence during the January window.
However, reports over recent weeks indicate that the club consider it a priority position to address in the summer, with the Lilywhites expected to target two centre-backs (Football.London and The Athletic).
If CalcioMercato’s latest update is to be believed, one of the names on Tottenham’s radar is Mancini, who has been a fixture in the Roma backline since arriving from Atalanta back in 2019.
The 26-year-old, who scored a screamer on Sunday to help Jose Mourinho’s side claim all three points against Juventus, is contracted at the Stadio Olimpico until 2027 (Transfermarkt).
However, this is seemingly not stopping clubs from stepping forward with an interest in the centre-back, with Tottenham said to have made contact regarding the Italian, while Inter Milan are also keen.

Mancini will be an excellent fit for Conte’s system as he will be able to operate across the back three.
However, with the Italian’s future at Tottenham very much in doubt, the club will likely wait until securing a potential replacement for the 53-year-old before finalising their transfer targets.
