Report: Spurs have made loan offer for former Chelsea striker

According to El Partidazo de COPE, Tottenham Hotspur have made a loan offer for Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who is currently on loan at Juventus.

Over the last couple of days, Tottenham have seen their pursuit of Adama Traore seemingly fall through, with the Wolves winger now reportedly on the verge of signing for Barcelona (The Athletic).

Tottenham’s hopes of signing Luis Diaz have also been dashed with Liverpool now said to be close to landing the Porto winger (The Athletic).

If COPE’s latest update is to be believed, Antonio Conte’s men are trying to bring Morata in before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The report claims that Atletico Madrid have received an offer from Barcelona for the former Chelsea man as well as loan offers from both Spurs and Newcastle.

It is stated that Diego Simeone’s side could agree to loan the Spain international to one of the two Premier League clubs until the end of the season, rather than strengthen a rival.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Moratta flattered to deceive in his previous Premier League stint with Chelsea, the 29-year-old is as good a player as we are going to get as a backup to Harry Kane.

However, I have my doubts over whether the Spaniard would want to come to Spurs, knowing that he would have to play second fiddle to Kane. He would probably prefer to move to Barcelona instead.
