Report: Spurs have ‘no fears’ over losing key figure to Liverpool

Despite speculation linking Ange Postecoglou with the Liverpool job at the end of the season, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘confident’ their manager will not be going anywhere in the summer.

Tottenham are flying right now and a large part of that success is down to Ange Postecoglou. The Australian has had a profound impact on the club since joining last summer, from performances on the pitch, to the mood around the club off it.

However, with such a successful start in his role, Postecoglou has now attracted interest from elsewhere, with Liverpool reportedly eyeing the Spurs man as the replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who will depart from his role in the summer (The Athletic).

According to a report from Football.London when the rumours first started circulating, the North London club are assured Postecoglou will not be leaving any time soon, and it is thought the man himself is ‘loyal’ and ‘excited’ about the work he is doing at Spurs.

That same sentiment has now been reiterated by a new report from The Telegraph, with an insistence that Postecoglou would not be joining any rival club in the immediate future.

Apparently, Spurs “hold no fears” over the rumours and remain “confident” that Postecoglou is committed to them for the foreseeable. It is believed Postecoglou would not be interested in jumping ship for “any other rival club.”

That said, the report adds Spurs may have nothing to worry about, as Xabi Alonso is the “overwhelming favourite” to succeed Klopp anyway.

I don’t think Liverpool would even bother trying to tempt Postecoglou away. He’s clearly enjoying what he’s doing at Spurs and he knows he is building a special project here.

There’s no way he would risk the incredible relationship he has developed with the Spurs fans by joining another Premier League club.
