Report: Spurs have no intention of selling £23m Pochettino signing

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have no plans to offload Lucas Moura despite the Brazilian’s lack of game time over recent months.

Moura was a regular in Tottenham’s starting eleven in the first few months of Antonio Conte’s tenure at Spurs, with the Brazilian producing some impressive performances alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Conte even raved about the 29-year-old’s ability and insisted that he was one of the best players in the Tottenham squad (Football.London).

However, since the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus, Moura has had to be content with a few cameos off the bench, with the Swede establishing himself as an automatic starter.

Football Insider claim that Spurs do plan on making Kulusevski’s loan deal permanent but they do not want to lose Moura this summer.

It is revealed that the club consider the former Paris Saint-Germain player, who arrived in north London for £23m in 2018 (BBC) as an important part of the squad and want to keep him around.

The report adds that Conte is an admirer of Moura and that the Spurs boss believes that the winger possesses match-winning qualities.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see why Conte would be keen to keep Moura around as the Brazilian, in many respects, is just the sort of squad player that top clubs need. He never moans when he does not start, has a fantastic attitude and always impacts matches when he comes on as a substitute. Bergwijn looks like the one who is more likely to be let go by Spurs in the summer.
