Report: Spurs have not given up on Bastoni, set to make new player plus cash offer

According to CalcioMercatoWeb.it, Tottenham Hotspur still retain hope of snapping up Alessandro Bastoni and are now set to make a player plus cash offer for the centre-back.

Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti confirmed yesterday following his meeting with the Inter hierarchy that his client will be staying put at the San Siro (Football Italia).

Alasdair Gold subsequently said on his YouTube Channel (starting at 7:57) that with the Inter star now set to stay and with Josko Gvardiol likely to cost a fortune, the North Londoners could turn their attention to Villarreal’s Pau Torres instead.

If CalcioMercatoWeb’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham continue to hold hope that they can snap up Bastoni this summer.

The report claims that Antonio Conte’s men are ‘willing to go crazy’ to land the 23-year-old, and are now prepared to make an offer of €30m (£25.6m) plus Davinson Sanchez for the Italy international.

However, it is explained that Inter are unlikely to view such an offer favourably as they would prefer a straight cash deal if they were to sell Bastoni.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is difficult to see Bastoni leaving this summer after the definitive statement his agent made yesterday. So, I do not retain any hope that Spurs will be able to snap up the 23-year-old. I fully expect us to turn our attention to other alternatives over the coming days.
