Report: Spurs have not made a move for former Fabio Paratici signing

Tottenham Hotspur have not made a move to sign Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to The Athletic.

The Bosnian international was linked with a loan move to North London after Spanish news outlet AS claimed that Tottenham were keen on the 31-year-old, with Fabio Paratici having played a key role in bringing him to Juventus in 2016.

Pjanic’s preference is said to be to return to Juventus, but the Serie A giants need to firstly free up some space in their squad if they are to consider bringing him back to the club while they have also been linked with Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli (Metro).

The playmaker has failed to live up to expectations following his move to Barcelona last summer having struggled for regular game time, partly due to injury (transfermarkt).

Pjanic would bring some experience and quality to the Tottenham midfield, especially on a loan deal where Spurs would only likely have to cover his wages. Should he be available, there would likely be a number of clubs keen to land him.
