Report: Spurs have not yet had ‘concrete negotiations’ with Nagelsmann

Sky Germany have revealed that while Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in Julian Nagelsmann, there have not been any concrete negotiations between the two parties.

The report states that the North London club’s hierarchy do want Naglesmann to replace Antonio Conte at the helm at the end of the current season.

While the Lilywhites have allegedly reached out to the German, it is suggested that talks are currently only at a preliminary stage.

Sky Germany claim that while Naglemsann considers a move to Tottenham to be a ‘conceivable option’, there are still ‘some open questions to be clarified’ before the 35-year-old takes the job.

The recently departed Bayern Munich boss is thought to want clarity over who the club’s director of football would be and the role he would have in transfer decisions.

This report comes on the back of The Independent suggesting last week that Nagelsmann wants a final say in Spurs’ transfer dealings if he is to accept the job.

I do not see many managers being too keen to take on the job without any clarity on the director of football they would be working under.

So, it might prove tricky for Tottenham to hire a head coach before they first find a replacement for Fabio Paratici.
