Report: Spurs have now put midfielder and defender on their transfer list

The Evening Standard have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now put Tanguy Ndombele and Djed Spence up for sale.

Neither Spence nor Ndombele have featured in any of Tottenham’s three pre-season games so far this summer.

Despite some reports initially indicating that Postecoglou could give the Frenchman a chance to revive his Tottenham career (L’Equipe via Sport Witness), multiple outlets have reported over the past week that the North London club are now ready to cut their losses on the midfielder (Daily Mirror).

Multiple sources from Turkey have reported over recent days Galatasaray are in talks with Spurs about the 26-year-old (Sabah).

Spence is still struggling for chances at Tottenham

Spence meanwhile would have hoped for a change in fortune this season after seemingly not being fancied by Antonio Conte.

However, if The Evening Standard’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham are now ready to offload both Ndombele and Spence.

The report reveals that the pair have been transfer listed along with Hugo Lloris and Joe Rodon, which is why the four players were absent from the matchday squad against Shakhtar.

Spurs Web Opinion

The Ndombele news is not surprising as it always seemed unlikely that the midfielder would fit into Postecoglou’s high-intensity style.

However, I am rather surprised that the Australian has decided not to include Spence in his plans. Perhaps the Spurs head coach is simply not convinced that the 22-year-old can play as an inverted full-back.
