Report: Spurs have ‘once again knocked on the door’ for Brazil international

AS have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have once again come calling for Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque after their failure to finalise a deal for the striker last summer.

Over the last couple of days, it has been suggested that Tottenham and other Premier League clubs have been alerted as Roque’s representatives are exploring a move away from Barca in search of regular game time (TBR Football).

Multiple outlets have also pointed out over recent days that Spurs tried their best to secure Roque from Athletico Paranaense last summer but eventually lost out to the Catalan giants (Fabrizio Romano –YouTube channel).

Tottenham have reached out about Vitor Roque

AS have now reported that Spurs have ‘once again knocked on the door’ for the 19-year-old, who is thought to be attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer window.

The report points out that the Lilywhites had ‘almost everything agreed’ with Roque and his entourage last summer before he ended up at Camp Nou.

The Brazil international’s situation right now is described as a ‘volcano ready to explode’, with the player said to be frustrated at his lack of game time.

The publication adds that a ‘tug of war’ could break out between Barca, who want to loan out the striker, and Roque’s representatives, who prefer a permanent transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would be surprising if Tottenham did not test the waters with an offer for Roque, given the concrete interest they showed in the striker last summer.

However, Spurs would likely not have any interest in a straight loan deal and would only explore a permanent transfer or a loan-to-buy deal.
