Report: Spurs have reached agreement for player – One obstacle left in deal

CalcioMercato have revealed that Tottenham and Bologna have reached a price agreement for the transfer of Takehiro Tomiyasu, but the payment method is yet to be decided.

The report claims Spurs and the Serie A side settled on a price of €20m back in July and negotiations ‘continue almost non-stop’.

Unfortunately, this final obstacle is described as ‘far from irrelevant’ as Tottenham have yet to offer an agreeable method of payment.

This is likely regarding whether the €20m comes up front in cash, as payments over a period of time, or as a loan with a buy option/obligation. The report merely states that the terms of payment have not been agreed but an eventual meeting point is expected.

Spurs have already bolstered their backline this summer with the purchases of Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I haven’t seen many concrete links to out-and-out right-backs so I expect that is where Tomiyasu would play if he joins. Either that or Spurs want to sell Serge Aurier first, which looks from the outside like it is going as expected.
